About Us
FS FEUP
Formula Student FEUP provides its around 80 students with valuable hands-on experience, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context and develop essential transferable skills for the job market such as communication, project management, and teamwork.
The team consists of students from various engineering fields, including: Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Industrial Management.

TEAM'S HISTORY
THE BEGINNING
During the summer of 2021, a group of engineering students gathered and dreamt of creating a Formula Student team. This rapidly became FS FEUP and after the initial recruitment, a proper team was assembled!
THE FIRST COMPETITIONS
In 2022, the focus was on the design and project competitions with the FS FEUP 01, securing the first international awards for the team.
BUILDING FS FEUP 01
With the design completed, it was time to manufacture the first prototype! A huge challenge that the team was able to successfully complete on time for the competitions, where more prizes recognized the team’s work.
DREAMING OF AUTONOMOUS
The new team cycle enabled higher dreams to be pursued, which lead to the design of the FS FEUP 02 and competition in Concept Class with it, once again validating the team improvements.

Formula Student is a competition that not only evaluates the performance of the car on track, but also its efficiency and all the thoughts behind every decision the team has made to achieve its goals. Everything – from the Design, to the cost and even the emissions of the vehicle when being produced – is considered.
This is a multi-disciplinary project, involving all areas of engineering. You will learn not only to work as a team with highly motivated people, but will also develop both soft and hard skills crucial for your career. You will also learn state-of-the-art materials, manufacturing processes and techniques, that lead us to search for performance on track
